PLANNING
 Noseley Hall

Timothy Sammons Fine Art Agents was asked to provide impartial advice and examine a range of options open to the family. In particular to advise which items from the collection should be sold, the tax implications of the sale and also to handle the sale itself.

Of the various options, it was decided that a Country House sale with all the attendant publicity, would be the most effective way to achieve the desired result. We selected items for the sale, instructed an auction house to conduct the sale, and, with Sotheby's, monitored every aspect of the sale including the timing, presentation and marketing. We also advised on listed Building problems arising out of the sale.

The two day sale at Noseley Hall exceeded pre-sale estimates, achieving a total of £2,671,189 ($4,455,543). In addition, important archives including letters to Cromwell were negotiated in lieu of tax due from sales.
